Receiver architectures for positioning with low earth orbit satellite signals: a survey

Abstract Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) are services generally provided by Global Satellite Systems (GNSS). GNSS reside in medium to high orbital altitudes from the Earth’s surface, resulting weak signal reception. However, user applications increasingly need of higher power strength or alternative PNT solutions. An influx satellites Low Earth Orbit (LEO) driving such innovation technology. Improved compared can be obtained LEO merely due their proximity Earth. Therefore, even communication satellite transmissions becoming appealing navigation, as so-called Signals OPportunity (SOP). In order benefit applications, receiver architectures for LEO-SOP, well potential LEO-PNT signals explored.
